I don’t for a second excuse what Phillip Schofield did. It was shameful & wrong.
But, having watched his TV interview today, I think there needs to be a real concern about his state of mind because he is very clearly saying he feels suicidal & can’t see a future.
I found the line about how his daughters have had to keep close watch on him, and that he wouldn’t be here without them, especially disturbing.
We have to remember there’s an innocent, shattered family behind this – as well as an innocent young man who has thankfully not been named.
It’s a sad case all round, and it’s right to hold Phillip Schofield and ITV to account, but there is also a line to be drawn.
