When the wonderful Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team asked for our help in publicising an appeal for a new trustee, we decided to take a bit of a different approach.
The appeal was delivered through the voice of Gem, one of the mountain rescue dogs, on the basis that it would be more fun and eye-catching.
We designed the advert to go in both The Northern Echo and Darlington & Stockton, tied it in with a press release, and backed it up on Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and Instagram.
We’d met the team earlier in the year, when I volunteered to be a “dogsbody” hiding out on the moors in the dark to help train the dogs to find stranded humans, and they do an incredible job, saving lives in all weathers.
It was an honour to support them – and, hopefully, they find the person they’re looking for.
