My wife hates him with a passion,
For stealing all the nuts.
The birds don’t get a look-in,
She calls him ‘greedy-guts’.
He can hop across the rooftops,
He can swing down from the trees.
He can balance on a washing line,
He can climb a post with ease.
Every puzzle has an answer,
His cunning knows no bounds.
He can nibble through the wire,
While hanging upside-down.
But I love him – he’s my hero,
He always makes my day.
I scratch my head and wonder,
How he always finds a way.
He’s a daring superhero,
He has no fear of heights.
He’s Spiderman and Batman,
He should wear a mask and tights.
He shows such determination,
A can-do attitude.
Nothing ever stops him,
From getting at the food.
He’s someone we can learn from,
By reaching for the sky.
Never saying: “That’s too hard!”
So chances pass us by.
Let’s make our mark on history,
Be the best, fantastic, bold.
Compete at The Olympics,
And win gymnastics gold.
Don’t settle for the lowest branch,
Be an astronaut instead.
Float upside-down among the stars,
Turn the world upon its head.
