Happy memories at York Races

Today it’s the annual trip to York Races I’ve been making for nearly 60 years.
As a child, with my dad, it was Benson & Hedges Gold Cup Day to see greats, like Brigadier Gerard, Grundy & Dahlia, and to collect the racecards.
Now it’s the Juddmonte International & what a fantastic sporting occasion again with Ombudsman versus Constitution River and others in the big race.
It’s a chance to remember the happiest days I had with my dad – the nerve-tingling excitement of catching a coach from South Bank and arriving at one of the world’s greatest racecourses.
It’s a place that does it right, with professionalism and class at every turn, thanks to William Derby and his team.
Can’t wait for this year’s instalment. Hope we back some winners, dad. Even if we don’t it’ll have been a day to remember.
